Wanted: More Hours, Less Decisions

Whoa! Where has the time gone!? The last few weeks have been busy! As you can tell, its been awhile since I've written anything (with the exception of the sold post)! The last few weeks have been slow in progress with the house with an exception of the brick layers. Two weekends ago, we also went to Omaha, Nebraska to see my friend Mandy who moved out there last fall! Last week was a whirlwind with showings on our house, work life picking up its pace and decisions on the new house. I'm searching for more hours in the day and and all I'm coming up with is less sleep...which those of you who know me well, know that's not good for anyone!

Like I mentioned, the brick layers were about the only people who were working at the house last week. They were there early and didn't leave until 7:30 or after each night. As you can see, basically the whole house is bricked! And 3 guys did it in about 1 week. All they have left to do some detail work around the windows and washing the brick, with all the rain we have been getting lately, who knows if they will ever be able to finish up. We absolutely LOVE the brick. It is different than both our neighbors and the designs are incredible. We are really happy with how its turned out and Tony is just great to work with.

This week work picked up in the house again. The trim carpenter continued trimming out the doors and putting up the baseboard. He also got my dining room columns wrapped this week which I think look awesome! I can't wait until they are all painted and really looking as envisioned. The painters started filling holes and preparation to start painting trim, doors and walls, which is rumored to start Wednesday, although, I'm not holding my breath.

Beautiful Brick!
The flooring and tile company was back as well. I met with the tile guy again last week to go over the design. Although we have been promised tile and laminate over and over we still haven't seen any progress in these two areas - which is a little frustrating. The tile guy said he was going to work all weekend, and if he did, there wasn't much progress. However today, there is tile down in the bathroom and the shower is getting water proofed. Looks like that will all be done mid week.

What?! It actually worked!
Matt and Justin have been working to get lights working in the house! They have the kitchen and living room lights all hooked up. It makes such a difference in the house, its really quite amazing. They have tons of switch and outlet wiring left to do, but of course it will get done over time.

Dining room column.
Last weekend we went to H.H. Gregg in Indy to see one of dad's high school buds that just so happens to be the general manager of the store on the east side. He hooked us up on our appliances and somehow, Matt walked out with a 60' TV and Bose surround sound! Needless to say, he was floating on cloud nine! After spending a small fortune on appliances, (I have never charged so much money on a credit card at once) we proceeded to go furniture shopping! Which the TV and surround sound came in quite handy as somewhat of a bargaining chip. Furniture is expensive and is available ins such a variety of price points. Its really hard to decipher if you are paying for good quality furniture or just getting hosed.  We found a sectional we really love, I am hoping we can go back with weekend and get it ordered.  So now I should thank everyone who gave us a cash gift for our wedding, because we are finally going to spend that money on an awesome new sectional (which we saved specifically for) for our living room! So THANK YOU!

This week is already proving to be just as busy and not lacking any decision making. After this whole process is over, I just want to go 24 hours without deciding ANYTHING!
