I admit, I love Christmas decorations but not as much as my husband. He can't wait to put the Christmas tree up even if that means mid-November. Since we were having Thanksgiving at our house, I felt we needed to honor Thanksgiving properly and still have some pumpkin and fall decor out.
I did cave and let him get the Christmas tree out a few days before Thanksgiving and start setting it up. Since moving to the new house, it wasn't as easy to decorate since everything was going to be in a new place and we needed more decorations. It's amazing how our 7 1/2 foot tree looked so large in our last house but it looks so small in our new house! We both decided we needed to invest in a new tree, but not this year. Unfortunately, I don't have a good picture of the tree! But you can somewhat tell from this picture (and notice the snow outside!)
One of my favorite things to decorate with is garland and white lights and what a more beautiful place than the mantel!

I enjoy baking and the Christmas season provides a great time to make all those yummy treats that I try to stay away from all year long. This year I stumbled upon a recipe called "Christmas Crack". It was delicious and extremely easy to make! Abbe was over when I decided to experiment the recipe and she and Matt couldn't stay out of it! I believe it is named appropriately for its addictiveness!

This year I did the majority of my Christmas shopping online. I felt like I got just as good of deals as the stores offer with the bonus of free shipping. Matt wanted to go Black Friday shopping, but with the same deals being offered online and no crowds, I opted to shop from the comfort of my couch! Packages were being delivered almost daily for a week or so.

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is gift wrapping. I love making each gift look more special through the paper, bows and tags! This year, I found this adorable holiday themed chevron wrapping paper. I have a mild obsession with gift wrap, gift bags, bows, stationary - mostly any paper product, I love, especially when it comes to Christmas. I think next year I might offer gift wrapping services I like it so much. I just have to figure out the logistics of it all and if it's a viable service to provide.
The last piece of getting us into the holiday season came a few weeks before Christmas. We had a beautiful snow that stuck to everything. My favorite kind of snow is the kind that clings to all the tree branches and that I don't have to drive in. Since it was a Saturday morning, we were able to sit inside and watch it come down. Unfortunately, I had to go out and help Matt plow a parking lot, which meant I had to shovel sidewalks. Needless to say after an hour of shoveling this incredibly, heavy, wet snow, I was not loving it anymore!
